Cairns Wake Park

Cairns Wake Park is Tropical North Queensland's only cable park — a five-tower Rixen full-size loop running counter-clockwise on a man-made freshwater lake at Smithfield, right at the foot of the Kuranda Range and next to the Skyrail Rainforest Cableway. The park has been pulling riders since 2005, with eleven-plus Liquid Force features — kickers and sliders from beginner to pro — scattered across seven scored sections. Kids Club runs on Saturday mornings and school holidays with a slower cable and buggy pickups for younger riders. A two-hour Backpacker Special runs daily, Ladies sessions on Sunday mornings, and the annual Waketoberfest draws competitors each October. A licensed café and bar, pro shop, inflatable Aqua Park, beach, and swimming lagoon round out the lakeside campus on the Captain Cook Highway route toward Port Douglas.
