Wet 'n Wild The Social Club on the Zegerplas in Alphen aan den Rijn has combined beach-club hospitality with a cable lake since 1998—distinct from the unrelated Wet & Wild site in Velten, Germany. The waterfront terrace and Beachhouse look directly onto the kabelskibaan where beginners and experienced riders share the same clockwise loop, with kneeboarding, wakeskating, SUP, and flyboarding offered alongside ski and board. Most first-timers get on the water within half an hour after a wetsuit fitting and instructor briefing on the dock. The park hosts national-level wakeboard competition, including the NK Cable Wakeboard weekend, plus recurring community nights such as Boardersnight and obstacle clinics led by John Broer on rails and kickers. A Kids Wake Club teaches Sunday-morning progression for ages 10–15. Land-side programming is equally busy: festival weekends on the beach, dinnershows, ladies-only packages, Crash 'n Splash group ski days, and corporate meeting rooms above the restaurant. Arrangements can layer watersport with high tea, barbecue, or late-night dancing for groups from a handful of friends up to several hundred guests.
