Wakeground

Wakeground is Burgenland's first — and so far only — wakeboard facility, opened in summer 2017 on an artificial lake near Vienna. Two 180-metre Loric Gatewake cables, each with 9-metre towers, run side by side as Pro Cable and Rookie Cable, so beginners and advanced riders can ride at the same time without getting in each other's way. The Rookie Cable is where first sessions happen — kneeboard and tube tow are welcome too — while the Pro Cable is set up for riders who want more challenge. Wakeboarding here is pitched as summer fun for the whole family, not just snowboarders looking for an off-season fix. We also run beginner courses, foil sessions, kids' summer camps, and outdoor birthday events in the region.
