About the park in Cayo Guillermo
Cable Ski Park Cayo Guillermo is Cuba’s first full-size cable — a Rixen loop on piles in the shallow lagoon at the south-east entrance of Cayo Guillermo, in Jardines del Rey, Ciego de Ávila. It sits on the Palmares extra-hotel campus beside the dolphinarium, just west of Marina Marlin. The main lift is five towers and seven hooks over about 530 metres, with room for up to twelve riders at once, plus a separate shorter beginner cable. It opened on 11 August 2017. Hurricane Irma hit the cayos about four weeks later and damaged three towers; the last hard operating note is February 2018. 2019–2026 public proof is thin, and Palmares’s current site lists only the dolphinarium — treat a visit as call-ahead until a current season is confirmed.
